Practice
run the day before the race.
Practicing
the "switch."
Full
of confidence. We can do this!
Race
Day...And their off!
A
rather ominous start.
Time
to regroup and board again.
So
much excitment, and the race has just begun!
The
first of many "switches" is called.
Re-boarding
after a switch.
Hmm...what's
wrong here?
Near
collision on the high seas!
Hey
fella's, we be takin' on water!
The
defender's title is secure.
Maybe
if we try the "submarine" approach...
Come
on guys, one boat to beat to stay out of last place!
Exhausted
but not broken-hearted.
Our congratulations and thanks go out to these 4 brave sailors who made such a valiant challenge to the camp instructors long standing title. Against all odds...."read, maximum allowable load limit", they fought long and hard to even finish the race. Let's see the camp instructors drag hundreds of pounds of submerged canoe and water to the finish line! We'll be back next year for another stab at the title....you can count on it! |

Just
20 feet to go!
Finally!
An admirable and valiant last place finish.
