Raisin Divers

What you'll need:
• 6-10 raisins
• 8oz. clear drinking glass
• bottle/can of clear carbonated beverage,
  such as 7-Up, Sprite or Ginger Ale

Instructions:
• Have an adult help you cut a few raisins each into 3 or 4 pieces.
• Fill the clear drinking glass with 7-Up, Sprite or another clear carbonated beverage.
• Drop a few of the cut up raisin pieces into the glass and watch what happens next!!

The raisins should first sink to the bottom, gather some bubbles and then rise to the surface. After dropping off their cargo, (carbon dioxide or CO2) they'll sink to the bottom and do it all over again!

Eventually both the raisins and the soft drink will get tired and will need to be exchanged for new raisins and soft drink. Have races or count how many times each raisin can make the trip before tiring.
